Why make a question required?
Making a question required in your survey ensures that respondents provide an answer before submitting. This helps:
- Get Complete Data: No missing information that could skew your analysis.
- Avoid Bias: Everyone answers the same questions, reducing bias.
- Improve Quality: Encourages thoughtful responses, leading to better data.
- Standardize: Ensures consistency in responses for easier analysis.
In short, requiring responses helps gather accurate and reliable data for meaningful insights.
Why leave it optional?
Leaving questions optional in your survey respects users’ choices and enhances their experience. It:
- Respects user decisions without pressure or inconvenience.
- Preserves a positive user experience, avoiding frustration.
- Protects respondent privacy by allowing them to skip sensitive questions.
- Prevents bias by encouraging genuine feedback.
- Ensures relevant data collection by allowing optional responses.
